The remarkable Hora Mundi ref. 5717 made its first appearance in 2011, to an enthusiastic reception. Then, in 2016, when Breguet launched an updated version (ref. 5727) they spoke of it as a replacement for the original. But some things are simply too special to discontinue. Thank goodness – for we rarely encounter a watch … ContinuedThe post HANDS-ON: Around the world with the Breguet Classique Hora Mundi ref. 5717 appeared first on Time+Tide Watches.

The story in a second: A rare case of quartz having legit enthusiast appeal, albeit in a clever, and very novel, fashion. Say “it’s quartz” and countless watch nerds cringe; however, there have been some exceptions to the rule over the years. But as I spent time with the Casio Wave Ceptor, I began to realize why I never really considered it to be appropriate as a grab-and-go quartz watch. There are certain nuances of this watch that made me realize that it really isn't the best watch for everyone. So if you're thinking about picking up the WV-59DJ-1AJF - this Casio Wave Ceptor review is for you.
In the name of journalism, we tasted all of them and we can confirm that they are just as delicious as the timepieces they kindly allowed us to photograph among the vineyards of La Côte and the UNESCO-listed region of Lavaux.

For a site ostensibly about fine mechanical watches we spend a decent amount of time talking and thinking about watches of the smart variety. I found the Pancor Watches P02 and I fell in love with it. This watch called to me for a three reasons: (1) It had a hi-beat movement. All of the watches I had experienced up to this point were 21.6k beats per hour, and I yearned for a smoother sweep; (2) it was black PVD and I thought that was awesome; (3) And the power reserve reminded me of that elusive Tudor North Flag.

The watch deftly combines a vintage aesthetic with modern technology and does it all without relying on the faux patina that can be so polarizing within the watch community.
