A Few Slightly Less Obvious, Loosely Cohesive Perspectives On Watch Design

Wristwatches have been mainstream for a little over a century now. This gives us a decent timeframe to reflect on watch design and its evolution. We tend to throw terms like “watch design” and “aesthetics” around loosely, but I feel that these concepts warrant a closer look and a slightly wider perspective. Consider this my […] Visit A Few Slightly Less Obvious, Loosely Cohesive Perspectives On Watch Design to read the full article.

A Tale of Two Wristies X Windup Watch Shop Giveaway

We have teamed up with our friends Iman and Chris from the A Tale of Two Wristies podcast to offer one lucky winner the chance to win a $350 digital gift card to the Windup Watch Shop! On this week’s podcast episode, Media Manager Devin Pennypacker appeared on the podcast representing Worn & Wound and the shop while taking part in the ‘swear jar’ concept, where guests are not allowed to mention the outlet or company they work for. Though, as a fun twist, this time Iman and Chris took on the challenge of getting Devin to mention Worn & Wound, the Windup Watch Shop, or the Windup Watch Fair as many times as they could, as each mention added $25 to a digital gift card for one lucky listener. Roughly one hour and 14 mentions later, and $350 is up for grabs! If you want to enter, hit the button below and learn how. Official rules are listed below. Good luck to everyone! Spacing Out With The New Urwerk UR-10 Spacemeter - A Watch That Measures Time And Space

When a watch with hands looks alien, it must be an Urwerk. Recently, the brand introduced a non-digital watch that measures time and space with traditional hands on a round dial while still managing to make your watch brain feel weightless. I was spacing out with the Urwerk UR-10 Spacemeter when it was still under […] Visit Spacing Out With The New Urwerk UR-10 Spacemeter - A Watch That Measures Time And Space to read the full article.

The Complete Guide to Windup Watch Fair NYC 2025 – 10th Anniversary Edition

Ten years ago, a small but determined idea took shape: to bring the world of watches to everyone-not behind glass cases or velvet ropes, but right into the hands of collectors, creators, and the simply curious. A decade later, the Windup Watch Fair has become a cornerstone of the enthusiast calendar, connecting brands and fans through passion, discovery, and good conversation. This October, we return to Center415 in New York City for what promises to be our most ambitious edition yet-a 10th anniversary celebration not only of watches, but of the people, ideas, and stories that drive them forward. And this year, those stories are being told by some of the biggest names in horology. Dubai Watch Week 2025 Panel Highlights and Rolex CEO Keynote

In less than two months, industry leaders will gather in Dubai for Dubai Watch Week (DWW), an event that has become a focal point of the industry since launching a decade ago. The 2025 edition will take place from November 19-23 in a new 200,000 sq ft venue next to Dubai Mall in order accommodate a slate of 90 brands; the largest line-up in its history, up nearly 50% compared to the 2023 edition. As ever, a highlight of DWW is the opportunity to hear directly from industry leaders during the various panel discussions. This year’s line-up includes some of the biggest names in watchmaking with a keynote from Rolex chief executive Jean-Frédéric Dufour, in conversation with Abdul Hamied Seddiqi, provocatively titled, ‘The Time to Act is Now – a note to the watch industry.” Mr Dufour rarely speaks publicly at a watch event, so this is one of the most significant happenings at DWW. In total, more than 50 sessions will take place across the five days of the event covering a variety of topics ranging from luxury and legacy in the age of algorithms and virality, to the reality of future-proofing founder-led independent brands; the latter will be a fireside chat with Max Büsser and Kari Voutilainen. There will also be a new chief executive roundtable featuring Georges Kern, Ilaria Resta, Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, and Julien Tornare, the heads of Breitling, Audemars Piguet, Chopard, and Hublot, respectively. DWW takes place from November 19-23, 2025 in Burj Park adjacent t...

Recapping the G-SHOCK Showroom Takeover Kick-Off Event at Windup Watch Shop

From September 18th through the 21st, the Windup Watch Shop showroom in Brooklyn hosted something a little different: a full takeover by G-SHOCK, along with Casio, Edifice, and Pro Trek. Over four days-and especially during Thursday night’s kick-off-the space buzzed with enthusiasts, collectors, and the digital-watch curious, all eager to get hands-on with the toughness, design, and community spirit that have made G-SHOCK a cultural icon. Our Brooklyn-based Windup Watch Shop showroom was fully reimagined for the event. In addition to our usual selection, visitors found an expanded lineup of watches, from core staples to the latest releases, available at special showroom-only pricing. Just as important, G-SHOCK brought more than product. Brand representatives were on hand throughout the takeover, sharing stories, answering questions, and even running the drop-test machine-a live demo proving that “Absolute Toughness” isn’t just a tagline. The Thursday evening kick-off set the tone for the entire weekend. Sushi, Japanese treats, and drinks kept the atmosphere relaxed while a giveaway and exclusive G-SHOCK swag added to the excitement. Both G-SHOCK and Worn & Wound teams mingled with the crowd, sparking conversations, encouraging hands-on time, and comparing their Squares, Mudmen, CasiOaks and more. A true highlight of the night was the wrist-shot station. With Worn & Wound’s staff photographer capturing attendees’ G-SHOCKs in action, the first hour turned i...
