VIDEO: The dressy new face of the TAG Heuer Link

TAG Heuer has pulled off a minor miracle with the Link. They’ve taken one of their most recognisable designs, one synonymous with the ‘90s, and made it relevant in 2017.  They’ve achieved this by focusing on the most important part of the watch – the bracelet. Link actually began life as a bracelet back in … ContinuedThe post VIDEO: The dressy new face of the TAG Heuer Link  appeared first on Time+Tide Watches.

VIDEO: One for the ladies – the Rado HyperChrome Captain Cook in white

So far this week we’ve looked at the larger 45mm Captain Cook and the smaller vintage versions. To round out the trifecta, we’re taking this bright and beach-ready number for a spin. Now, this isn’t your typical ‘on the wrist’ review, as the mesh bracelet is intended for wrists smaller (and less hairy) than my one. … ContinuedThe post VIDEO: One for the ladies – the Rado HyperChrome Captain Cook in white appeared first on Time+Tide Watches.

LOOKBOOK: Three ways to wear Baume & Mercier’s steel Petite Promesse

Take a good look at the image below. What do you see? A ladies’ dress watch, right? That’s a fair point. When you have 44 brilliant-cut diamonds bracketing a mother-of-pearl dial, a teeny 22mm case and a wrap-around bracelet, it’s clear we’re not operating at the rough-and-ready end of the watch spectrum. But don’t be … ContinuedThe post LOOKBOOK: Three ways to wear Baume & Mercier’s steel Petite Promesse appeared first on Time+Tide Watches.

In-House, Cutting Edge: Audemars Piguet Debuts the Royal Oak Offshore Tourbillon Chronograph With In-House Automatic Chronograph

In the world of watchmaking, there is news, and there’s actual news.  Here we have the latter: the Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding Tourbillon Chronograph. This is something rather special.  Combining a tourbillon with a chronograph is never a trivial challenge, but what we’ve got here is a fully integrated, in-house tourbillon chronograph movement, that also uses […]

Not Just Theoretical: Hublot Big Bang Ferrari “Red Magic Carbon”, King Gold Carbon and Ceramic

The culmination of a successful year with Ferrari, the Hublot Big Bang Ferrari “Red Magic Carbon” is representative of the brand’s evolution towards integrated watchmaking. The UNICO movement was designed and produced by watchmakers at the Hublot manufacture and while chronographs are not exactly a unique complication, Hublot’s flyback chronograph can be reset at any […]

The Owner’s Perspective: Reviewing The Zenith Defy Skyline

Not only had Zenith completely re-imagined the original Defy from the late 60s, but had designed a modern steel sports watch with today’s watch consumer in mind. A great blend of modern lines, a bold design and styling harking back to the original Defy that was released in 1969. With many integrated sports watches on the market these days, it is good to see that a brand like Zenith is taking inspiration from some of its earlier model lines and bringing this to today’s consumer. Now, full disclosure, this isn’t a loan watch for this review; I did order it back in April 2022 and, after a 6-month wait, finally had it on my wrist in October. So this is my hands-on review of the Zenith Defy Skyline now I’ve owned and worn for the past couple of months. And in that time, I’ve really put it through its paces – office work, beach, snorkelling, surfing, trap shooting, and overseas trips, to name a few!  How it wears: The Defy Skyline has been designed for wearability. With a diameter of 4...
