A. Lange & Söhne releases the Saxonia Moonphase at the recent SIHH 2016. As fervent fans of moonphase timepieces, this piece spiked our interest. Lange's specialty German engineering and age perfected finishing art are all evident in this timepiece. A notable Lange signature to the otherwise predictable moonphase layout is the large date display at 12, above the brand inscription. The famous outsize date is a style-defining facet of A. Lange & Söhne watches. It was first showcased in 1994, together with the SAXONIA model.

The Quatuor is the most ambitious yet singularly least understood high-watchmaking project ever undertaken by Roger Dubuis. Replace “Roger Dubuis” with “any Swiss watch brand” and you could still make a solid case for the truth of that statement. The Quatuor was first introduced to us in late 2012 and officially at the 2013 Salon […]

MB&F;’s Legacy Machine debuted last year to excellent reviews. Its past-meets-future design highlights what is essential in a wristwatch: the balance wheel (how well it keeps time), the power reserve (how long it will run) and, of course, the time display itself. Its minimalist design also accentuates the purity inherent in a simple movement, and […]

The Roger Dubuis booth at SIHH last year was easily the most memorable of them all, featuring a huge golden eagle that towered over visitors, welcoming them into a cave like setting of medieval fantasies. One of the advantages of the SIHH is of course that you see all you’d expect in terms of wonderful new watches. Some of the greatest pleasures, though, are the unexpected ones.
