10 Best Watches Under €500

The cheapest legitimate-quality entry tier. Ten mechanical and quartz picks under €500, from Seiko's SKX successors to Casio's G-Shock 5610 and the Timex MK1.

10 picks Updated 2026-04-27 By the WristBuzz team

What €500 actually buys

The under-€500 tier in 2026 is dominated by Japanese mechanicals (Seiko 5 Sports, Citizen Tsuyosa) and high-quality quartz (G-Shock, Citizen Eco-Drive). Swiss mechanicals are rare here; Tissot and Swatch are the exceptions.

If you're buying your first watch, this list is the right starting point. The picks here will outlast many €2,000+ fashion-quartz watches.

Good list, but I'm surprised the Bambino made the cut given how small it wears. I've got a 19cm wrist and even that felt cramped on my arm. The Seiko 5 SRPD at least has some presence, though I wish they'd do a 42mm version for those of us with larger wrists.

Haha, yeah that's fair. I've got smaller wrists so the Bambino actually feels perfect on me, but I can see how it'd be weird if you're on the bigger side. Have you tried the SRPD on yet? I'm torn between that and the Citizen Promaster for my first real watch, so curious if the 42mm would actually make a difference for you.
